Facebook Photo App Targets Instagram, Color

Facebook is reportedly looking at to overshadow the recent success of photo-sharing iPhone apps such as Instagram and Color with its own photo-oriented app. TechCrunch says information technology has received a load of images and documents relating to Facebook's plans to launch a standalone app, which will strike into the 6 billion photo uploads the social network receives every month.

The Facebook photos app project, which is meant to be secret, appears to be a combination between three popular apps in the App Computer storage: Route, which lets you share photos and light videos with upfield to 50 people; Instagram, which is a social group photograph unselfish app (with photo filters and effects enclosed); and Gloss, which pools photos from people around you, based on your GPS coordinates.

It's unknown how the app will run, though TechCrunch's MG Siegler describes the iPhone app as "amazing" and "awesome." You buttocks see the alleged screenshot of the app's chief interface on the left. The screenshot shows a series a exposure tiles displayed chronologically underneath each another on the reveal. One is a photo album, patc the other two appear to be labeled photos.

There's also a camera button and what appears to be a photo notifications icon on the worst right, and a menu point keister left-of-center. This port is more photo-centric than Facebook's on-going photos interface in the official iPhone app, which only displays small thumbnails and album information at a carom.

Overall, the presumed mysterious Facebook exposure app is aforementioned to be a complete app, which could carry the name of Hovertown surgery WithPeople. Some other theory would be that this port will be integrated into the current official Facebook app, replacement the archaic Photos carte, and the functionality could be integrated into the main place As well.

So Interahamw, Facebook says it has about 100 million users using its official mobile apps to update their status, so built functionality for photos could indeed discourage many users from other interpersonal photo share-out apps. However, if the initial indications are accurate, Facebook's app does not have any editing features available like Instagram, or location-based pooling, arsenic with Color, so it wouldn't pose a big threat to Instagram, Color or Path — yet.
